Here in 1912, at the intersection of Church and Main Streets, the Babcock Store was the heart of the community. Back in the day, neighbors came to town to gather supplies and share stories around an old wood-burning stove. Many of the long-time residents of Appomattox have fond memories of this building. While the candles burn and the windmill spins, we talk about the important things. Namely, “What have we seen the LORD do this year?” and “What are we praying for in the new one?”
